Case Stydy:
Logistics 1

This case study talks about the importance of a conducting a professional risk assessment to ensure key risks are covered. This approach helped protect Logistics 1 from a potentially damaging $300,000 payout in the first year.

About

Logistics is an Australian owned and Director managed company operating out of Brisbane which provides services for sea-freight, air-freight, specialist freight and customs clearance.

Background

Insure My Fleets took over this account in 2012. A complete risk assessment and review was undertaken then which identified an obvious exposure in management liability and statutory legal liability. We then facilitated the additional insurance coverage for this category of events.

During the first year of coverage a claim against the company was made by Roads and Maritime Services totalling $300,000 which as covered by this new insurance. Thus protecting Logistics1 from a highly damaging $300,000 payout.

Case Study:
Doolans Heavy Haulage

This case study highlights the importance of having good support from your Insurance Agent in event a claim is made especially when the insurer is denying the claim.

About

Doolan’s supplying Heavy Haulage Transport Services to all sectors of industry, in all States and Territories of Australia since 1980. Doolans specialize in transport to the mining and manufacturing industry and major project developments. Doolans have operating offices and depots in Melbourne (Moorabbin) and in Perth (Maddington).

Background

In 20xx a motor cycle and pillion passenger came off their bike in the vicinity of a Doolans heavy haulage vehicle and made a claim against the company on the grounds that Doolans vehicle caused the accident. This claim was made despite the Doolans vehicle not being involved in the accident.

The insurers initially refused to process the claim on the grounds that the vehicle was not involved and therefore no claim could be made. Insure My Fleets facilitated the processing of the claim through the insurer which eventually involved up to 611 pages of documents and 3 years of litigation. By guiding the client through the legal processes with the insurer resulted in the claim being covered and substantial savings being made. In this case the claim involved grey areas of coverage which the insurer could deny but eventually relented based on facilitation through Insure My Fleets.

Case Stydy:
ABS Transport

This case study highlights the importance of having excellent support from your agent in the event that a claim is to be made with the insurance company.

About

ABS Transport Industries provide safe and efficient transportation of varied types of freight, from machinery to palletised goods, all across Australia. ABS Transport Industries is a national operation with depots in every state. They specialise in transporting general freight, EPA prescribed waste, dangerous goods, over dimensional freight and storage.

Background

In 20xx one of ABS heavy transport vehicles was transporting heavy machinery through the Burnley tunnel. Unfortunately one of the cables on the vehicle collected the tollway signage and ripped it off the walls. The driver made a decision to keep proceeding through the tunnel because of the risk of causing vehicle accidents with other trucks if he stopped in the tunnel. This course of action resulted in further signs being ripped out.

The insurer initially declined to support the claim on the grounds that the driver was largely responsible for the additional damage.

Insure My Fleets defended the claim of the client with the insurer which resulted in the claim being largely paid and ABS being protected from paying a substantial amount to cover the damage.
